Modified Bitumen
A modified bitumen (MB) roofing system is a low-slope roofing system. When correctly installed, it is a very reliable roofing system. An MB membrane is reinforced with polyester, fiberglass, or a combination of the two. This makeup gives it strength and puncture resistance. Asphalt, or bitumen, is the waterproofing element. It has also been improved with polymers. Sometimes you will see mineral granules or metal foil on the surface with a variety of colors, and you can also see the surface not covered and left smooth. Although the roof is often referred to as rubber or a rubberized roof, it is not the same as a Rubber EPDM roof. Why Choose a Modified Bitumen Roofing System?
The state of Georgia, and Atlanta to be specific, has extremely harsh summer temperatures. Like many of the other systems we choose to install, modified bitumen can withstand harsh weather conditions like those often found in Atlanta. Other benefits include:- Highly waterproof
- Two-ply system

- Competitive price
- Good lifespan
- Best if you anticipate a lot of activity on your roof
